Departing from San Salvatore Abbey, follow the signs to Siena on SP 18. Consider first the climb and then the slight slope, 4.6 km after the SP 18 turn right downhill towards Siena - Radipole, 500 m turn right again towards Radicofani. We follow the road down from the foot of the mountain Amiata to the Val d'Orcia for 8.3 km until you reach a junction turn right to Radipole. After a hilly tract, begins the ascent to Radipole and the rock: it is a climb of 3.2 km to reach the turnoff for the village center. Salirti up the rock (about 1.3 miles) go down in the streets of the medieval village. Leaving Radicofani follow the signs for Chiusi - Sarteano. After 2.9 km turn right on Sp 54 in the direction of Celle sul Rigo - San Casciano dei Bagni are continuing a descent that leads to the bridge on the Line (5.8 miles) where it was on 3 km at a time of Celle sul Rigo. Down again after 1.3 km there is a crossroad, head right down to Siena, turning instead to the left you can reach San Casciano dei Bagni and the Baths. The road reaches down S.S. Cassia 2 just before the bridge on the Line, past the village of Ponte a Rigo leave the Cassia turning left towards Piancastagnaio - Abbey St. Saviour on the SP 18 of Mount Amiata, which bypasses the river Paglia. After an initial section (less than 4 km) begins the ascent that leads us to Piancastagnaio characterized by wide turns, and constant slope.
