PIENZA

The parish church of Santa Maria dello Spino is a sacred building that Monticchiello and was part of the diocese of Chiusi to the creation of one of Pienza in 1462.

In 1570, pouring in very bad condition, was almost completely rebuilt by the family Saracens, as evidenced by a plaque set into the facade

Currently it is open for worship once a year on the feast of Corpus Domini. The structure shows the sandstone facade and small bell tower.

The interior cabin has been restored in the eighteenth century, probably, as the only altar in baroque style.
