Madonna del Rosario con San Domenico, Santa Caterina da Siena, Santa Caterina d'Alessandria e San Simeone Castiglione d'Orcia
Artist: Vincenzo Rustici
Year: 1575 - 1599
Current location: Sala d’Arte San Giovanni
Original location: La Pieve dei Santi Stefano e Degna
DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
Art critic Brogi attributes the painting to the style of Francesco Rustici. However, the altar on which the painting is placed is dated 1575, so it must have been originally painted by Father Vincenzo.
The Superintendence of Artistic and Historical Heritage of Siena has an old document compiled by Mannucci in 1916, which attributes the painting to the manner of Francesco Rustici, but this may be due to later interventions on the canvas by Francesco.
