Located on the hills of Montalcino, in the Osticcio neighborhood, the small chapel of the Madonna del Latte, adjacent to a house, takes its name from the painting inside.
The fresco above the altar was particularly venerated by pregnant women, who in the past came to honor the image in the hope of being able to breastfeed and nourish their unborn child without difficulty.
Since the fresco predates the construction of the church, it likely belongs to a roadside shrine that was later transformed into an oratory following the popular veneration of the effigy of the Madonna.
