The four panels, from the previous dismemberment of a polyptych, certainly have the same origin, as evidenced by their dimensions and shared authorship.

The four saints occupy the entire space of the panel on which they appear. Each holds a book identifying them as a saint.
All are easily identifiable due to their frequent depictions in Italian art, from all periods since the 12th century, but also due to their iconographic attributes that allow them to be distinguished and identified.
