Sitting on a hillock and just a stone’s throw from the gates of the enchanting small town of Pienza, the Poderuccio farmhouse boasts extraordinary 360° panoramic views across the Val D’Orcia. Over the centuries, its evocative and lush surroundings have turned the area into one of the most sought after in the world. The small town of Pienza, a renaissance pearl conceived by Pope Pius II, is the jewel in the crown of the Val D’Orcia. Picked as the location for famous films such as The Gladiator and The English Patient, the town has never lost its simple, untainted charm.
Nestling in the heart of the Val D’Orcia, the Poderuccio Agriturismo is a point of departure for some of the area’s most famous and stunning locations, such as Monticchiello, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico D’Orcia, Montalcino and Monte Amiata. The enchanting city of Sienna is just 40 kms away.
Winter sports enthusiasts and trekkers can get to the ski facilities of Monte Amiata in just 30 minutes and take in the bracing mountain air at an altitude of 1,830 metres above sea level.
The warm spa waters of the ample and well known thermal baths of Bagni San Filippo and Bagno Vignoni are within a ten minute drive of the farmhouse. The spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni is slightly further a field.
