DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
The statue is located in a carved, painted, and gilded wooden niche. Bibliography records a restoration carried out in 1779 by an unidentified Maestro Giocondo of Siena. The coat of arms closely resembles that adopted by the Borghesi family in the early 16th century; however, the enamels are completely different, making a correct identification impossible.
